About Solo Travel Collective
A space built for real solo travellers — especially the ones still finding their way.
Created by someone who’s been listening for 30 years.
I’ve spent most of my career as a travel researcher — not selling trips, but listening.
Literally thousands of conversations.
In lounge rooms, libraries, over cups of tea, in focus groups, Facebook threads, and airport queues. From twenty-somethings finding their feet to eighty-somethings chasing one last dream.
But the voices I could never shake — the ones that made something shift in me—were women travelling solo.
Women who decided to go anyway.
Women navigating heartbreak, retirement, freedom, or fresh starts.
Women quietly whispering, “It’s my time.”
Some were recently divorced. Some newly widowed.
Some booked alone, some met up with friends, some loved being part of a small group — but all of them carried the emotional weight of their travel themselves.
That’s who I built Solo Travel Collective for. For them. And for you.
This isn’t just another travel site.
It’s a space.
A space where:
-
You’ll find tours, retreats, and resources curated for solo travellers, with your emotional needs in mind
-
You’ll meet travel providers who actually understand women over 50, and are held to high standards
-
You’ll access tools that guide you with kindness and clarity, not overwhelm
-
You can show up exactly as you are — grieving, excited, anxious, curious, free
Because travel doesn’t just take you somewhere.
It changes you.
I’ve seen it.
Over and over again, in all my research, one truth keeps surfacing:
People who have travelled are different from those who haven’t.
They’re more grounded.
More open.
More alive.
They’ve met themselves in new places — and realised they like what they found.
With 25+ years in travel research and thousands of interviews behind me, I’ve learned this:
It’s not about the destination.
It’s about who you get to be when you travel.
🧭 Where I Come From
Before becoming a travel researcher, I spent 15 years at Qantas, working across roles in sales, marketing, and as a travel agent.
It gave me a deep understanding of how this industry works from the inside, and what travellers really need when they’re planning their journeys.
Since then, I’ve worked with travel brands all over the world, helping them better serve people like you — thoughtful, independent travellers with heart, curiosity, and high standards.
That experience taught me something powerful:
Real travellers aren’t just looking for destinations — they’re looking for meaning.
And most travel companies are still missing that.
Solo Travel Collective exists to honour that transformation.
Not the “find yourself” cliché — but the quiet moment you realise you’ve done something brave.
Not the “wellness escape” hype — but the deep exhale of a woman who finally has space to think.
This is not a hype machine.
It’s a gathering place for thoughtful, independent travellers who don’t need to be told what’s trending.
They just want to feel something real.
So whether you’re here to plan your first solo trip…
To find a retreat after a big life transition…
Or just to sit quietly and feel less alone in your dreaming…
Welcome.
You don’t have to explain yourself here.
You don’t need to be “confident” or “experienced.”
You just need to be curious — and willing to follow that spark.
My name is Bronwyn White.
And after three decades in the travel industry — including Qantas, global brands, and thousands of surveys and in-depth qualitative interviews I created this space because women like you deserve more than glossy ads and group tour clichés.
You deserve to feel safe, seen, and supported.
💛 You’re welcome here.
If you’re ready, take a look around.
There’s something here for you.
Thank you for being here.
